The ferry from Koh Samet runs daily until 18:00, and the driver follows the time you give. Booking a pick-up about 30 minutes after your planned departure from the island is a safe margin.
The road back to the city
The car follows the coast road to Rayong and then the eastern motorways to Bangkok. Sunday afternoon and the last day of a long weekend are the heavy hours into the city, so a morning departure is far smoother than an afternoon one.
Planning time is 2 h 30 min for 210 km. A drop-off in the east of the city is quicker than one in the old centre.
An evening at the hotel or the airport
