Ao Tubtim Beach, Koh Samet
Ao Tubtim is a small bay on the east coast of Koh Samet, framed by boulders and trees. It is a few minutes' walk from Ao Phai and is popular with families, who fill it by day and leave it calmer after sunset.

A small bay with shade
The beach is short, with trees close to the water for shade and rocks at either end. The sea is good for swimming, though not clear turquoise, and the water is warm. Hotels of several grades stand behind the sand, one of them with its own restaurant and transfers.
Music from the bars along the coast can carry across, depending on the wind.
Walking routes
A path along the shore leads from Ao Tubtim to Ao Wong Duean, and Ao Phai is next door. It is easy to spend a day moving between the three beaches on foot.
Tell the songthaew driver the name of your hotel if it is not on the main road.
Getting there
A ferry ticket is 70 THB per person one way, or 120 THB return, for a crossing of 30 to 40 minutes on any day between 08:00 and 18:00.
