Leaving Pattaya
From the hotel the driver takes the main road east, out through the southern edge of the city, and joins the highway to Rayong. The first 15 minutes depend on where in Pattaya you start: Jomtien is on the right side, Naklua needs a crossing of the city.

The Map Ta Phut stretch
East of Pattaya the road passes refineries, chemical plants and port areas, and truck traffic is heavy on weekdays. The road has several lanes and traffic lights, and it can be slow in the morning and late afternoon. On a Sunday it is quiet.

Rayong and the coast
At Rayong the car turns towards the coast, passes fish-sauce factories and fruit stalls, and arrives at Ban Phe. Pier names are painted on the signs, and the driver stops at the one you chose.

Fitting it to the ferry
