How to Get from Pattaya to Ban Phe
From Pattaya there are three realistic ways to reach Ban Phe: a private taxi at 1,099 THB per car, a bus with a change in Rayong, or your own transport. The taxi takes about 1 h 15 min; the bus takes longer and costs less per person.
Private taxi
The driver collects you at your hotel and drives straight to the pier you have chosen in the form. There is no change and no waiting. For a couple the cost is 1,099 THB, and for four with cases it is 1,299 THB in the Toyota Innova.
This is the only option that starts at your door and ends at the pier.
Bus and songthaew
Buses and minivans run between Pattaya and Rayong, and from Rayong a bus or a songthaew goes to Ban Phe. The first leg starts from a bus station, which you reach by baht bus or motorbike taxi. With luggage the changes are slow, and the last leg is in the heat. Departures end in the evening.
It suits a person with a small bag who has time. Ask at the terminal for the current timetable.
Own transport
A hired scooter is a poor idea for the highway through the industrial belt, and a hired car costs a day's rental plus the drop-off. A booked taxi is the simpler one-way answer.
